The Massasauga Provincial Park is home to one of Ontario's few remaining populations of Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnakes. These venomous snakes may be located anywhere in the park and are a protected species.  This species is considered to be threatened under the Endangered Species Act criteria in Ontario.
